LANA GILCHRIST Dentist
I trained at the University of Sydney, Australia, and graduated in 1991, moving to the UK in 1997. I have worked mainly in private practice and took over Cornhill Dental Centre in 2003. I hoped to realise my dream of a high quality practice, that put the needs of my patients first and provided them with comfortable and innovative treatment. I pride myself on the fact that my team and I are constantly keeping up to date, honing our skills and utilising new technologies and techniques. When at home, I love walking in the countryside, curling up with a good book and am still trying to overcome my reputation as the world’s worst gardener. |

IAN GILCHRIST Practice Manager
Originally from New Zealand, I have lived in the UK and Europe since 1989. I have a wide variety of industry experience and I pleased to be able to utilise this expertise in our practice. I co ordinate the running of the practice and manage the ‘ behind the scenes’ areas. I also enjoy walking in the countryside and the occasional round of golf. |

TINA GRIFFIN Senior Dental Nurse
I started in dentistry in 1986 and became a qualified nurse 2 years later. An opportunity to work in the USA enabled me to expand my skills and I passed the Tennessee State Board exams in 1988. I’m also a qualified oral health educator. I joined the practice in 2005 and as the senior dental nurse I oversee the training of new staff and ensure all the up to date procedures are implemented. What I love most about my job is the people. It’s very rewarding to help care for and to get to know our patients. I also love spending time with my family, researching my family tree and am proud to have done the MoonWalk for breast cancer twice.

CLARE JONES Receptionist
I believe that first impressions are important and that’s why I aim to ensure that your first impression of our practice is a friendly one. My background is mainly in sales and I have been able build on those skills to give you the best post possible customer experience. I live locally with my husband, my little boy, and my dog, Paddy. I love to read, going to New York, and playing on my newly acquired Nintendo DS. |

DEBORAH SHEATHER Dental Hygienist
I trained as a dental hygienist in the Royal Air Force, qualifying in 1982. I have worked in various types of dental practice. I am passionate about what I do, and I make sure I keep my skills up to date by regularly attending scientific meetings and seminars. I relax with dinghy sailing on Sundays - great when it’s wet and windy. For more sedate pastimes I try to outwit the wildlife that steal from my vegetable patch. |

TANYA WILLIAMS Trainee Dental Nurse
I am the newest member of the team and joined at the beginning of 2008 as part of the Cornhill Dental Nurse training programme. I hope to earn my NVQ3 qualification by the end of 2009. I started my working life as an apprentice chef in 2000 and eventually worked for large hotels in Oxford and Woodstock. However, I wanted to work more with people and am very excited by this opportunity. I am enjoying the challenge, the skills that I am developing and it’s exciting being part of such a dynamic team. Swimming and Ice skating are my new hobbies. |
